Seventh Grave and No Body

Charley Davidson, #7

With a long-running series, you can start to feel apprehensive when the next book comes out. You wonder, what if it isn’t as good as the last one? What if the story has lost its spark? Well, worry not with "Seventh Grave and No Body"! Ms Jones has done it again, kept me on the edge of my seat, laughing and crying. Charley and Reyes are wonderful together. What really made this story so gut-wrenching was seeing a glimpse of what Reyes feels for Charley. As this series goes on, I am amazed at how much we don’t know about what is really going on. We find out things when Charley does, which I love. I rarely can predict what is going to happen next, which is awesome. If you are looking for a paranormal mystery series that will knock your socks off, look no further than Charley Davidson's.

Things are getting real, real scary that is! Twelve beasts from Hell are out to get Charley. Her father is missing and she is forced to be an adult, which sounds like a recipe for disaster. Deciding to start being responsible on a small scale, she gets a goldfish. Reyes is determined to protect Charley from everything and she completely ignores that as usual. She is determined to do whatever she thinks is right, saving everyone, regardless of her own safety. How will she stop the Twelve, find her dad, and keep a goldfish alive, not to mention herself? Maybe it's time to finally harness her Reaper powers?

Twelve. Twelve of the deadliest beasts ever forged in the fires of hell have escaped onto our plane, and they want nothing more than to rip out Charley Davidson’s jugular and serve her body to Satan for dinner. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and as she retraces his last steps she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fiancé who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life. But all of that barely scratches the surface of her problems. Recent developments have forced her to become a responsible adult.  To conquer such a monumental task, she’s decided to start small. Really small. She gets a pet. But how can she save the world against the forces of evil when she can’t even keep a goldfish alive?A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it. We’re doomed.
