This is the third book that Ms. Foster has written about SBC fighters. If you haven't read Causing Havoc and Simon Says it isn't necessary to enjoy Hard to Handle, but it helps. As with other books by Ms. Foster you get visits from characters in previous books, which I just love. In this book we join Harley Handleman as he is rehabbing his elbow, which he injured in Simon Says. The dislocated elbow prevented him from yet again attaining a title belt in the SBC. When Harley wants to focus on training and get away from it all, he rents a cabin in an isolated town from Anastasia Bradley. While he has known her a couple of years, he doesn't know much about her. Anastasia knows Harley is an SBC fighter and has followed his career a bit. She has taken some time off from her work as a life coach after a bad situation developed with a client. There is quite a bit of sexual interest on both their parts, Harley isn't about to be distracted by a woman and Anastasia admires his drive and commitment. When Anastasia is almost killed in a suspicious car accident on the way to town to deliver a message to Harley, they are moved to satisfy their attraction but only for the night. Will Harley be able to keep his focus on winning a title or will his attraction and worry for Anastasia bring him back for more?
I really enjoyed Hard to Handle, more than the first two books in the series. The attraction is powerful and Harley is a whole lot of yummy!!! The mystery of who is after Anastasia doesn't take the focus away from the two of them. Same goes for secondary characters. They add to the mix and make for a very entertaining read. Anastasia is a wonderfully strong woman who I genuinely liked. I could so picture myself being friends with her. Barber is also featured in this volume and all I can say is drool!!!! All you Barber fans will really enjoy what happens to him. That is all I will say about that. The only problem I had with Hard to Handle was near the end when there is a fight between Anastasia and Harley that is never resolved or spoken of again. I felt like the fight came out of nowhere and then went back to where it had come from. All in all though, it was an enjoyable contemporary. I look forward to another installment of the SBC.
After Fate deals Supreme Battle Challenge (SBC) fighter Harley Handleman a sucker punch, his uncle secretly hires a pretty life-coach to get Harley back in the ring of life. Anastasia Kelley has actually known Harley for years, but never as well as she's going to now. Hot for his fighter's form, she has trouble keeping it professional, especially since Harley doesn't know she was hired. And when Anastasia turns the tables on him, it's as if he's been hit below the belt. But that's also where his uncontrollable lust for her burns.
