Zoe Clare is a medium who can also communicate with fairies. Luckily she lives in Fairyville, Arizona; a community known for its odd inhabitants. She spends her spare time lusting after her landlord, Magnus Monroe as she watches him sleep with every other eligible woman in town. To further complicate her life, her first love comes back to town. She still finds him attractive even though he broke her heart.

At first this book seemed like a cute paranormal with Zoe carrying a torch for her landlord. Then we meet Alex, her first boyfriend. He and his college roommate Bryan run an investigation firm in Phoenix, Arizona. They are hired to work a case in Fairyville. Alex left town due to a scandal and he hasn't been back since. He doesn't want to return and dredge up the past. Bryan has wanted a relationship with Alex for a very long time. The reality of coming face to face with Zoe after all these years lowers Alex's defenses. He confesses to his partner about his sexual appetites going both ways and embarks on a sexual relationship with Bryan.

There is a lot that goes on in this story. The sex scenes are very hot and explicit, so beware this is not for the faint of heart. I was caught by surprise at the first scene between Alex and Bryan but it was very well done. I had never read anything by Emma Holly before but I can see why she is so popular. I wish that she had explored the medium angle of the story a little more. I was very pleased with Ms. Holly's treatment of the fairies, making them entities with their own agendas. The case that Alex and Bryan came to town to solve was very intriguing and concluded very satisfactorily. If you aren't very adventurous and open minded, this is not the book for you.

Book Blurb for Fairyville

Zoe Clare is a medium who has no trouble communicating with the dead-or with real live fairies, for that matter! But she can't seem to get her feelings across to her landlord-slash-manager- Magnus Monroe, Fairyville, Arizona's most eligible bachelor. She's tired of his erotic antics with every woman in town but her. So when her high school flame returns to town, Zoe is more than a little vulnerable to his charms. How Alex broke her heart is a scandal no one in Fairyville has forgotten. But even if Zoe isn't ready to forget, she's willing to forgive. The rules they're about to break will bring out the jealousy in Magnus-and the astounding truth.
