This review is going to be a bit of a challenge for me. I am going to do my best to be coherent when all I want to say is “Oh wow, oh my gosh, this is the best one yet!” and then spend the rest of the paragraph describing how I am hugging the book like a loon. Blood Trade is a phenomenal book. Her love life is well, complicated. She has acquired some employees, needing to know she can count on someone even if it is because she pays them. The icing on the cake, her best friend isn’t speaking to her and two people from her past show up, needing her help. She is called back to Natchez by its Master. He has an infestation problem; rogue vamps are stalking the city. The job goes south right away when Jane and her boys see that these are not normal vamps. Creepy and terribly hard to kill, they have their work cut out for them. To sum up: this book is amazing, start to finish. Jane is so tough and so vulnerable at the same time. I love her relationship with her employees as she needs that sense of family. While her love life is complicated, it isn’t the main focus of these books and I really appreciate that. This is another stellar entry in the Jane Yellowrock series, I can give it nothing less than 5 stars!
Jane Yellowrock is a shape-shifting skinwalker who’s always up for a fight—even if it means putting her life on the line...
The Master of Natchez, Mississippi has a nasty problem on his hands. Rogue vampires—those who follow the Naturaleza and believe that humans should be nothing more than prey to be hunted—are terrorizing his city. Luckily, he knows the perfect skinwalker to call in to take back the streets.
But what he doesn’t tell Jane is that there’s something different about these vamps. Something that makes them harder to kill—even for a pro like Jane. Now, her simple job has turned into a fight to stay alive…and to protect the desperately ill child left in her care.
