“Fool For Love” is the second book in Merry Farmer’s Montana Romance series. After reading “Our Little Secrets” I couldn’t wait to read about Eric’s story. He seemed confident and charming and I was hoping his story would lead him to someone great. Farmer did not disappoint. Eric is sweet and generous to a fault and his easy- going manner makes him a character readers will find dear. Amelia is intelligent and strong making her a perfect contrast and love interest for Eric. I wish there could have been more about Eric’s adventures in London, but I did enjoy reading about Eric and Amelia’s travels back to Montana. Though, Eric is a real sweetheart, readers may find him frustrating with his seemingly simple personality. He seemed to have more personality on the ship than in Montana. He still made for a lighthearted character who was enduring if a bit unassuming. The antagonist was easy to recognize, but his fate at the end is a surprise and wrapped up everything nicely. “Fool For Love” is an enjoyable read with a delightful setting and enjoyable characters.
Eric is in London to find business opportunities for his failing cattle ranch, when he meets Amelia, a fallen woman who is alone and pregnant. Wanting to do the right thing, Eric gives her the chance of a new life in Montana. As they travel back to Eric’s home he realizes he is falling in love with her, but Amelia is unsure if she is worthy of Eric’s love. When Eric returns to Montana he finds his ranch is falling apart, and he now must find a way to keep his home and convince Amelia to take a chance on love.
Eric Quinlan was born a cowboy and a rancher and intends to die a cowboy and a rancher. But when his ranch is in danger of failing, he travels to the wilds of London looking for a business deal to save it. What he finds there are stuffed shirts, odd manners, and a damsel in distress.
Amelia Elphick’s life is over. She may have been born a lady, but when she finds herself jilted by a lover who leaves her pregnant and refuses to marry her, she seems destined for a life on the streets. When her employer’s rough but handsome houseguest, Eric, offers to rescue her from ruin, she has no choice but to say yes, even if it means moving halfway around the world.
But Amelia finds herself saying yes to more than a ticket west. What starts with a harmless lie tangles Amelia and Eric in a web of desire and deceit that exposes passions and turns their worlds upside-down. Eric believes Amelia holds the key to saving his beloved ranch and giving him the family he always wanted, but can he save her from the demons of her past without losing himself in the process?
