Wonderfully Wicked

The Dreamcaster Series Book 1

Kalila and Lydon, everyone!

The bad news: I liked book one the least out of the series. It's still good, don't get me wrong, but Kalila is just not particularly my flavor of heroine. She's still strong and badass in her own "I can withstand the pain of being flayed alive nightly" sort of way, but I'm definitely more of a fan of the "I will kill you dead dead dead" heroine. For some reason there's also a lot more confusion over what she is and what she can do.

Lydon was fun though, y'know, if you can get over the fact that he was outright murderous when he first takes the stage. I loved how he called Kalila his little monster and how sweet he could be.

The supporting characters are what really made this book outstand - we get to see Gwen and Alun for the first time and it was wonderful. Manic pixie girl is still that, but seeing Alun in this book and how he grew was a joy.

The good news: the book is great anyway and things only get better. So what are you waiting for?
