The Threshold Lost

Book 2 - Tales of the Morning Star series

I thought that this was a novel and amusing take on the old classic concepts of good and evil, sins and love. The story swept by quickly with fast pacing and lots of action - especially of the hot, steamy sort. I did enjoy the idea of free love with no taboo on sex although sometimes I felt that it crossed the line from being free-spirited to being too heavy on the gratuitous sex.

This is a pretty good stand-alone as it doesn't require much previous knowledge but I found myself hankering after more back-story. I wanted to know more about her relationship with her mother, and how she grew up. I thought that the story could have been improved if the relationship between the characters had been built up more. Asides from that, I thought that this new concept of angels and their relationship with humans and God was very interesting and relatively well executed.

In all, if you're looking for an exciting read to brighten up an otherwise dull day; this would be a good choice.

Book Blurb for The Threshold Lost

After her mother dies in a car accident, Eve inherits her family's estate as well as her place in The Circle. She becomes aware that there are other forces at work - quite possibly of a supernatural nature - that are seeking to kill her like they killed her mother. Fearing what she is destined to become, Eve flees the safety of The Circle. While on the run, she is targeted by unknown enemies and is eventually forced to return and face her fate as a member of The Circle.
