Queen of Carnage

BDSM Futuristic Shape-shifter/Vampire Paranormal

This was an entertaining read – relatively well executed with good premises. The concept of a supernatural alliance in a post-apocalyptic world was fresh and, as such, promising.

Also, the dynamic between Tigress and Jozef was refreshing in that it is rare to see a vampire and were duo where the vampire is in the submissive's position. My main complaint was the slightly purple prose and the use of created words – tygon, for example. In my opinion, if you can use a word that is in a language that exists, don't make up a word for it, it mostly only serves to jar the reader out of the world and annoy. Asides from that, I enjoyed this book a great deal.

Tigress was a fantastic character; no holds barred and take no prisoners, literally. I did hope to see how she would deal with Devemark, especially after seeing how she had dealt with the Humans up until that point. It would also have been great to know more about what happened to the Cry Freedom members and other such loose ends. However, overall it was a good read.

If you want a fast-paced, engrossing read to pass away a dreary afternoon, this would be a good book to curl up with.

Humans and Supernaturals have been warring for centuries, but a new threat looms in the form of the mysterious Muurraah. The Humans seek the help of the Supernatural Alliance to defeat them. But their cry for help against an alien threat is just a ruse to get their hands on a Prince of the Blood, a vampire that they hope to use as a pawn. What they don't factor into their plan is the lover of the vampire they capture. Battleship commander Tigress wants her Prince back and she's willing to level cities, destroy planets and bring down the Human government of Central Command to get him back.
