Once Upon a Power Play

Risky Business, #2

Oodles of fun with sassy, sexy banter and two intelligent adults who aren't quite sure what to do with each other -- other than bang each other into next week, that is.

I really liked that Ryan isn't portrayed as the stereotypical athlete horn-dog that Chloe has to tame. Ryan's sweet and heroic on top of being driven and just all around a really great guy. Chloe's hysterically funny, sassy, and even better, she's got a job and she's good at it.

Sorry, I can't emphasize enough how nice it is to see two adults having a romance rather than a spoilt man child trying to make a HEA with an inept waif that needs rescuing from real life.

It was also really, really awesome that Ryan and Chloe remain cool the entire book. Things happen, but the plot isn't driven by stupid emo angst or sheer immature stupidity on either end.

Once Upon a Power Play starts out funny, gets really sexy, and stays laugh-out-loud hysterical until the end. It's a sweet, sexy, funny read that is perfect for a pick-me-up and it's definitely put Jennifer Bonds on my radar and I can't wait to see more from this author.

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

He'll do whatever it takes to get her against the boards…

Sidelined by a potentially career-ending injury, the only thing hockey player Ryan Douglas should be thinking about is recovery. But after sharing a near death experience and a night of passion with a spunky brunette, the only thing on his mind is five and a half feet of sexy sarcasm. And he'll do whatever it takes to get her back in his bed—even if it means playing dirty.

Chloe Jacobs is done with fairytales. And men. She's kissed her share of frogs and what's it gotten her? Dumped by text—again. Determined to eighty-six illusions of romance and prove she's more than just a good-time girl, the last thing she needs is a pushy, arrogant hockey player testing her resolve. Especially one who's sinfully good with his hands and thinks date-by-blackmail is a perfectly acceptable social convention.

Ryan wants to play games? Fine by her, but this is one faceoff he's going to lose.
