Interesting premise, but I couldn't quite get into it.
A large portion of my problem was that it's very much telling, not showing. It also opened up with an info-dump, which didn't help. I felt like I was never in the character's minds and that I was also just hovering above them, listening to someone talk about something that had happened elsewhere. There was no immediacy and little intimacy. Somehow, the word choices used and the sentence structure didn't help -- I felt like a lot of the sex was described in such a fashion it was more off-putting than not.
Jhennen didn't help. He came across as a bit of an ass, arrogant and presumptive and just a bit callous. Auria's previous denial and her constant insistence that the Goddess knew all and knew best started to grate after a while as well, it got to the point where I wanted the blatant evangelizing to stop.
Then it moved into truly head-shaking territory when Auria gets in trouble. She clings to her pride until she realizes that it's not going to get her out of anything and only into more trouble, upon which Jhennen shows up to save her. Somehow, he manages to be a bit of an ass about it without any tenderness, which kind of surprised me -- in a bad way. Of course, then the problem is solved, in a way that just made me want to shake my head at the "completely unnecessary if she was being smart" heavy-handed black moment and boom, happy ending.
Not a fan as I couldn't buy the happily ever after and I ended up wanting to punch Jhennen a bit despite him coming to the rescue. Pass.
Auria enters the magical Labyrinth on New Year’s Eve, and its halls guide her to the two men she is fated to be with. Brener has loved her from afar since they were children, and Jhennen is a Warrior-Guard, commanding in personality and intimidating in physical presence.
They share a life-changing, passionate night together, but come morning, they must decide if their one-night menage can be the beginning of something new. When trouble threatens to tear Auria away from her life and the two men she is starting to develop feelings for, their connection just might be her only hope for salvation.
