This is a wonderful novel. There is a great cast of characters with very humanizing qualities, at times good acts can be misconstrued. As for the plot, it was excellent as it keeps people guessing all the way through till the end. As for it being a quick, fun read, it keeps a fast-paced beat all the way to the end.
It's Christmas once again, and Camryn Brooks and her BFF (Alice "Pinky" Nelson) need to hire some people before Thanksgiving to get them up and running before Black Friday. They end up hiring two women: Molly Dalton (a high school classmate), and Mrs. Emmy Anders. Molly (the rich socialite) and Emmy (an older woman with a mysterious past) are at odds throughout their first day. But it isn't much of a problem as at the end of the day Molly is found dead in the bathroom. Murdered. By a cup of poisonous coffee.
If that wasn't bad enough, their other new employee, Emmy, is the primary suspect. She has an infamous past that she is trying to hide, so she begs for Camryn and Pinky to clear her. When Camryn and Pinky start to look for the murderer, they find a plethora of suspects with motives. Camryn is up to her eyeballs in murder, while Pinky is busy covering both shops. But Camryn is not too busy to have dinner with her "favorite" cop: Clint Lonsbury on occasion.
This is the best book for murder at Christmastime. There is plenty to take away in this book including the DIY snow globe instructions in back of the book, which I loved. I will be trying out the instructions soon. The overall story arc seems to be heating up in several directions, which sounds like there is a possibility of a long-term romance!! Also, there is a prior novel (Snow Way Out), so if you enjoy this novel and haven't read the first. . .I'm already looking forward to the next snow globe shop mystery, which I hope comes shortly!
