Soul Kissed

Shadow Kissed, #2

Ms. Kellison has outdone herself with "Soul Kissed"! A wonderful love tale mixed with fantasy makes this novel a priceless treasure from start to finish. This is a well-crafted story with memorable characters and exciting scenes.

A plague was deliberately set loose in a mixed crowd of humans and mages. This plague is fatal only to mages. Mason, a disguised human, was able to walk away safely as was his son (Fletcher) a mixed mage-human. No one knows Mason is human, but Kaye Brand. The one thing Mason wants is for Fletcher to belong to a House. Kaye Brand, a mage of great standing, and her husband, Jack Bastian, an angel, are aware of Mason’s desire. Since Kaye needs Mason’s help, a bargain was struck: Mason goes undercover and Fletcher gets accepted into a House.

After Cari’s father dies, Cari discovers a wonderful ally. This ally will either enhance or destroy Dolan House for good. Mason ends up in Cari Dolan’s household for both their protection, just until things settle down. This made things awkward as Fletcher’s mom was Cari’s cousin and Cari still nursed a broken heart from those days of secretly loving Mason. While Mason and Cari are getting to know each other, Fletcher is trapped in world of secrets himself. Fletcher was sent to the Webb House for protection.

"Soul Kissed" is a standalone novel in a series, and it works well to both ends. The characters have the depth needed to sustain each tale in a progression of stories (some characters do show up in this story) as well as a standalone tale. There’s a lot more than this in Soul Kissed, so read up and enjoy!
