To protect Arroway, Tallon has been ordered to assassinate Shayla, a powerful witch. But when he sees her doing moon magic, his heart tells him she isn't dangerous. He falters long enough for Shayla to protect herself. She utters words that transport them to another time and place: a place where witches aren't hunted, Earth.
While there, Tallon is exposed to the truth and he realizes he's been manipulated by The Order. Can he set aside his long held beliefs and duty in order to help the witch he's supposed to kill?
Chosen is an engaging read. Shayla's character, a witch with no training and little knowledge of how to use her power, is interesting. The corruption that surrounds The Order smacks of our own religions and governments making it believable.
I admire Ms. Croft's imagination and talent. Well done.
