The Love That Saved Him

This is Sophie Barnes first contemporary romance. It wasn’t bad. It was a bit slow paced and I had a hard time staying intrigued as the story moved along. The main characters and several secondary characters went through something traumatic. I kept seeing the discovery channel gold rush show in my head while I was reading "The Love That Saved Him" since it is centered around a family of gold diggers. I could appreciate the struggles both characters went through. They all lost someone in their lives and didn’t know how to move on from the pain. Then there was drama from the past being dug up and it turned into a soap opera of who’s related to who that just turned kind of bizarre. It just didn't keep my attention to the end. There wasn’t enough going on in the story to help move it along other than the drama. Towards the end it got better.
