Sly is a vampire who lives in a crazy apartment complex filled with werewolves, shapeshifters and witches. He has spent the last twenty-six years alone after the death of his wife and is now looking for someone to bring life back into his lonely days. Morgaine, the sexy witch upstairs, has always been a good friend to Sly, but when she suddenly gets a makeover, Sly begins to see Morgaine as more than just a good friend.
The two slowly start to build a relationship together when Sly's Master comes out of hiding and wants Sly for himself. He will stop at nothing to make Sly his immortal companion and will hurt anyone that stands in his way. Morgaine and Sly are desperate for time to defeat this awful enemy while trying to work on a rumored "cure" for Sly's vampirism so they could finally have a normal life. Things don't always go as planned for these two, but with a little luck and a lot of magic, they might be able to find their happy ending.
This is the third novel in the series by Ashlyn Chase about the apartment building made up of different paranormal residents. Each novel deals with the romance of certain residents and I was happy to see that Sly finally got a novel and that he was matched with Morgaine. Morgaine was one of my favorite characters from "Strange Neighbors" and I was excited to see that she finally got a makeover from her goth look to something much more feminine. The love story flowed along perfectly and I enjoyed how we finally learned about Sly being turned into a vampire and the Master who created him. I enjoyed this book immensely and am looking forward to reading more from this author.
In this third installment of Chase's lively, sexy, paranormal trilogy, we meet witch Morgaine, who is deathly afraid of the dark, and her vigilante vampire neighbor Sly, who has his reasons for hating sunlight. Sly needs Morgaine's magic to help heal a broken fang, but with further help, and sometimes hindrance, from the wacky apartment dwellers around them, they may become each other's last hope for a normal life...
