Tired of it all and hoping for a change, Olivia Marconi leaves her restaurant, home and life behind for a fresh start at her family’s villa in Italy. Childhood friend, Sean Kindred, decides to tag along with Olivia in hopes of finally kindling a romance with his longtime friend. Olivia is afraid that everything that she touches will turn to dust and even though being near Sean causes Olivia’s heart to beat faster, she can’t let go of the experiences of her past. Can Sean make Olivia change her mind about love or will he have to leave her in Italy to start a new life without him?

After reading Scrumptious, I was hoping that Olivia would get her happy ending after everything she had been through with her ex-husband, Keith. He destroyed their marriage with his infidelity and almost ruined Olivia’s restaurant as well as what remained of her self-esteem. I loved Olivia’s character because she was this woman that had forgotten who she was and she believed that she was a failure when all she needed was a little love and support to show her that things happen for a reason. She had to have her world crash down around her so that it could be built back up into something that was worthy of her. That is where Sean Kindred comes in.

In Scrumptious, Olivia had tried to start a romantic relationship with Sean but he refused because she was still married even though they were in the process of a divorce. Now, that she is a single woman, he finally is able to pursue a relationship with his longtime crush. He was so perfect for her even though she had trouble accepting that he could possibly be in love with her after he turned her down that night. The romance and chemistry between them was very sweet and I enjoyed this book immensely with Olivia finally finding love while vacationing at a gorgeous Italian villa. Such a delightful combination of romance set in a culinary world that was mesmerizing to the senses and had me wanting more. I can’t wait to read what Amanda Usen comes up with next and I will definitely reread this one and savor every moment of Olivia and Sean’s love story.
