Keri Daniels is a successful reporter for the popular Spotlight Magazine and is steadily climbing up the ladder to become an editor. One day her boss, Tina Deschanel calls Keri into her office with incriminating high school photos and an ultimatum for Keri. Get an exclusive interview with the famous yet reclusive horror writer, Joe Kowalski, or she can find another job. Keri and Joe were once high school sweethearts so this assignment sounds easy for Keri to handle. The only thing is that neither Joe or Keri have truly been able to get over their teenage romance and bringing the two of them together could be a disaster. Joe agrees to grant Keri her interview on one condition. She spends two weeks with his family on their annual camping trip and participates in all of their outdoor activities. For every day that Keri spends with his family, he will answer one interview question and in return, Joe gets to ask Keri a question as well. Both of them assume that the passion between them has long burned out and the time that they spend together will just reinforce that. Or will this vacation help them to realize just how special their relationship was and provide them with one last chance to make things right.
Keri was a great character for me. She was a strong, independent woman that she seemed so sure on what she wanted out of life. I was impressed that she was so willing to stay with her ex-boyfriend’s family when she was the one that broke Joe’s heart. She knew she would get the snide remarks, but she also got welcomed back into the family as though she never even left. I never expected that kind of response either. I also got so involved with the supporting characters in this novel, that I could see myself standing out in the middle campground watching these scenes unfold in front of me.
The big question that I had throughout this novel was why these two characters separated in the first place. The chemistry between the two of them was great and they just seemed to have so much in common. Nothing about them being together felt forced, it just felt natural as though they were meant to be together. It was easy to see when they originally split up in high school, it tore them both apart and they never really seemed to recover. Yet this camping trip provided them with an opportunity to make amends and they were able to step back into this relationship role seamlessly. Exclusively Yours was a nice refreshing love story that involved the right amount of romance as well as hot steamy sex scenes between Keri and Joe. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
When Keri Daniels’ editor finds out she has previous carnal knowledge of reclusive bestselling author Joe Kowalski, she gives Keri a choice: get an interview or get a new job.
Joe’s never forgotten the first girl to break his heart, so he’s intrigued to hear Keri’s back in town—and looking for him. Despite his intense need for privacy, he’ll grant Keri an interview if it means a chance to finish what they started in high school.
He proposes an outrageous plan—for every day she survives with his family on their annual camping and four-wheeling trip, Keri can ask one question. Keri agrees; she’s worked too hard to walk away from her career.
But the chemistry between them is still as potent as the bug spray, Joe’s sister is out to avenge his broken heart and Keri hasn’t ridden an ATV since she was ten. Who knew a little blackmail, a whole lot of family and some sizzling romantic interludes could make Keri reconsider the old dream of Keri & Joe 2gether 4ever.
