Gabe Lupinsky is slowly getting used to his new title as the Director of Physical Sciences at the prestigious Sebastiani Labs when an exciting development has occurred at the lab's archaeological site. Lorin Schlessinger, head archaeologist and Valkyrie princess, believes that this discovery will help to determine the history of the paranormals that supposedly landed on Earth many years ago. The attraction between Gabe and Lorin intensifies with each passing day at the site as an unseen force is slowly walking among them with dangerous intentions. As Gabe and Lorin get closer to finding answers they discover that they may have stumbled onto something that may put both of their lives at risk.
I was intrigued with this novel because of the story but sadly, I am one of the few people that didn't read "Taste Me" first. There are a lot of characters in this book and some incidents that happened in the last book that wasn't explained in the beginning of this one. Besides that, I quickly got involved in the story of Gabe, who is werewolf with a visual handicap, and Lorin, who is head of the archaeological dig site that doesn't want anything to stand in her way of getting the answers that she seeks.
I liked Gabe because he was a straight-laced guy that was all about organization and figures while Lorin was a free-spirit that felt she couldn't handle the confines of an office. When they first got together, it was just to blow off some excess energy but as time went by it became more than that. I just liked the two of them together and thought they made a good couple in this story while trying to find answers of their origin.
I liked "Chase Me" for the romance and I am looking forward to reading "Taste Me" to fill in the gaps regarding some of the secondary characters. I can't wait to read the next installment that Tamara Hogan comes out with in this series.
Incubi, sirens, vampires, Valkyerie, faeries, and were-creatures live secretly alongside humanity in this gritty, sexy series.
In the second installment, Valkyrie archaeologist Lorin Schlessinger and werewolf geologist Garbriel Lupinsky are assigned to work together on a dig site. Gabriel's methodical work practices and Lorin's inexplicable attraction to him grate on the archaeologist's nerves. But when she unlocks a cryptic box that sends a signal to intergalactic enemies, Lorin will have to set aside her feelings and work with Gabriel...or risk losing everything.
