A Soul For Chaos is the second book in the Soulbearer Trilogy by Crista McHugh and this book is even better than the first one. I just love Arden's character and watching her come to terms with sharing her body with the God of Chaos, Loku. She is torn between two men that are in love with her while her heart only truly belongs to one of them. I was excited to learn more about Dev's background in this book and I am excited to see where Crista goes with their relationship in a Soul for Vengeance, which is coming out next year. This book is action-packed from the very start and will keep you guessing as to the true identity of the enemy that doesn't want Arden to reach Gravaria to fulfill her destiny. A Soul For Chaos is a great read and I was sorry to see this story come to an end.
Arden has been chosen by the God Loku to be his new Soulbearer and is on a journey to Gravaria to learn to control her new powers. With her trusted protector, Dev, by her side, she is able to face any challenge that comes her way. Arden is unaware that she has also made some powerful enemies that are determined to destroy her and the God of Chaos by any means possible. Arden must learn to use her new powers quickly or she may not be able to fulfill her destiny by becoming the most powerful Soulbearer ever known.
Life is dull without a little Chaos.
Trouble is more than just a nickname for Arden Soulbearer. It seems to follow her wherever she goes. And no one knows this better than her protector, Devarius Tel’Brien.
Dev thought that by moving Arden to Gravaria so she could learn how to control Loku, the chaos god whose soul inhabits her body, life would be simpler. Wrong. Not only is he continually torn between his duty and his growing feelings for the Soulbearer, but he also has to contend with the rival prince who wishes to claim her heart. Adding to his problems, a group of powerful mages have banded together to rid the world of the disembodied chaos god once and for all. Of course, that means they have to destroy Arden in the process.
Book 2 of the Soulbearer Trilogy. This book needs to be read in order. Book 1 A Soul For Trouble.(Fantasy with Some Romantic Elements)
