Hearse and Gardens

Hamptons Home & Garden Mystery, #2

Meg Barrett is an interior designer, who works in the Hamptons. She moved to Montauk when she quit her magazine job and left her cheating ex-fiancé. Meg loves living in Montauk and being near her friend Elle Warner. Life is working out pretty well for Meg. Except for the legal trouble over her newly purchased cottage, and a stalker, that is trying to scare her out of the cottage.

To help take her mind of her troubles, Meg helps Elle clean out, and salvage items from one of Harrison Falks’ (Elle’s Great-Uncle Harry) bungalows. They were hoping to find some wonderful antiques but instead find a human skeleton in a hidden room! It turns out that the skeletal remains are that of Harrison Falks’ son, Pierce. Pierce went missing the same time as a woman named Helen Morrison and one of his father’s priceless Andy Warhol paintings!

Intrigued Meg decides to start her own investigation into mystery surrounding the murder. Will Meg be able find out who killed Pierce Falks, find Helen Morrison, and the missing painting? Will Pierce’s killer or her stalker find a way to permanently seal shut Meg and her investigation?

“Hearse and Gardens’ is the second book in the Hamptons Home and Garden mysteries, although it can be read as a stand alone book. It is an amazing continuation of the series! I love visiting with the Montauk residents, especially Meg, Elle, Doc, and Georgia. I really enjoyed getting to know Uncle Harry, he is a hoot!

Kathleen Bridge gives us plenty of intrigue and action in “Hearse and Gardens”! You will be racing right along with Meg, as you try and solve the mysteries. I am happy to say, they are true mysteries till the very end! Kathleen Bridge is a splendid writer, who weaves marvelous mysteries! I am looking forward to seeing what Meg and Elle are up to next and what treasures they may find!

Book Blurb for Hearse and Gardens

A Hamptons interior designer deals with skeletons in the closet in the new mystery from the national bestselling author of Better Homes and Corpses.

To keep her mind off the legal battle over the oceanfront cottage she’s trying to buy, Meg agrees to help her friend inventory and clear out furniture from the massive Montauk estate of wealthy art broker Harrison Falks. But the job takes a terrifying turn when Meg discovers a skeleton in a hidden room in one of the estate’s many bungalows. The remains turn out to be those of Harrison’s son, who went missing nearly twenty years ago—along with one of his father’s Warhol paintings.

As Meg delves into the Hamptons’ pop art past, she gets drawn into the sketchy goings-on and family drama at the estate. But when Meg makes no bones about solving the crime, she just might become the subject of the killer’s next installation.
