During the times of King Arthur, powerful witch Leonore and her one true love Sir Geoffrey had numerous daughters, each one a very powerful witch in their own right. Throughout time, the female descendents of this union continue to carry the seeds of magic. Currently some of these descendents have found each other and have formed a sisterhood of protection for their magic and against the evil forces that wish to destroy them, their magic and stop the procreation of any more descendents of Leonore and Sir Geoffrey. Ludmilla (Millie), Letisha (Tisha) and Leonore are part of this sisterhood.
Lenore was a healer. She enjoyed going to the hospital and healing children, returning the life to them that had slipped away. However, her talent weakened her and the way to replenish her strength and her magic was through sex. Usually she would go out and find a partner for a coupling. But finding Jeff was different. Her intentions were to use him; he thought that a funny pick up line. Yet the coincidental meetings with him in the next few days had to mean it was more than just a one time thing.
Jeff and Lenore began to enjoy spending time together. Lenore’s strength and magic was notice. One dark Draiodoir was out to destroy Lenore and wasn’t going to let anyone or anything get in his way. Can love protect Lenore? Is Jeff the one to give her the powers she needs to fight the Draiodoir?
Carnal Healing was a fast read for me. I love the Arthurian legends and the descendents introduced in Carnal Healing give honor to their forefathers. The sisterhood gives us a hint that Ms. Reede is going to provide us with more interaction with other sisters, Millie and Tisha.
I intend to get the first book, Witch’s Knight and hope that Ms. Reede has sequels in the works. I want to know what happens to the other sisters and if they destroy the evil Draiodoir.
