Quinn Tanner is one of the Sons of the Zodiac, the Taurus Warrior to be exact. This hard headed bull prides himself on his keen ability to take the lead and be in utter control of all that is around him. Quinn's world is unraveling fast as he finds himself falling for his client that he has been hired to protect.
Montana Grant is trying to step into the family international shipping business that was left to her after the death of her father. Though innocent and completely unaware, this shipping company has its hands deep into dirty and evil works. Taking advantage of her vulnerability, there are many who want to see her dead.
Montana has never really known her mother being as she seemed to abandon Montana as a child. Little does Montana know the truth that her mother is Eirene, Goddess of Peace, who is also the daughter of the great Goddess Themis who resides on Mount Olympus. Ever since Eirene's betrayal to her mother, Montana has been deemed to bear the curse Themis put upon Eirene. Now, mysteriously and unexpectedly, Eirene is trying to walk back into Montana's life to protect her from her fate.
Stuck in a position that is far larger than Montana could even conceive, it is up to Quinn to protect her from all that is evil, and possibly even all the good, that threatens to harm Montana. Quinn struggles for ultimate control over a situation he is finding that he has little control over, especially now that his heart is becoming involved.
This story is a fairly fun, easy read that flows smoothly, which always gets extra points from me. I like the idea of warriors whose personalities and strengths are based on the zodiac sun signs. As the third installment of this series, I enjoyed reading what evolved in this bigger picture of good vs. evil.
However, I feel that I am done with this series. Though it is a good book, I personally found it lacking in that "something" that makes me eager to read the next book. Great ideas, but it seems to be a little bland for my tastes. I would, however, recommend it to anyone who has read previous Sons of the Zodiacs and enjoyed them, as I believe they would enjoy Warrior Betrayed as well.
As Montana Grant struggles to lead her late father's company, her estranged mother suddenly reappears, spouting nonsense about Mount Olympus, immortal warriors, and curses. But after an event that puts the company's future-and Montana's life-at risk, she decides to take her mother's last but of advice.
Quinn Tanner is Montana's security specialist-and a Taurus Warrior. With worldwide peace hanging in the balance, it's up to Quinn to help Montana rise to her destiny-even as they're falling in love.
