Night Veil

Indigo Court

So much has happened to Cicely Waters in the short time since she has returned to her home town in New Forest, Washington. Queen of the Indigo Court and Vampiric Fae, Myst, is sweeping her ice cold evil presence over the town while many innocent people are dying every day. But Myst holds a special place for Cicely, for the Queen will either have Cicely join her or be killed.

In the meantime, Cicely has her hands full with too many to-dos on her list. First, she must find a way to perfect her gift as a wind witch and a shifting Fae. Then she has to find a way to save her friend Kaylin, whose inner demon is waking. Lastly, she must travel deep within the depths of the Indigo Court where Myst holds captive Cicely's love of her life and Fae Prince, Grieve.

Old alliances become untrustworthy when the truth starts to unfold, while the most unlikely of people come out to help Cicely and the greater good. Twists and turns abound as surprising information is revealed in this latest quest.

This is a fast paced read with excitement at every turn; there is nothing lacking in terms of entertainment in this book! It is hard to sum up this story in a few paragraphs because so much is happening that it is really hard to pin it down. Basically, it is the second installment of the Indigo Court series our heroine, Cicely, must ultimately defeat the ever untouchable and powerful evil queen, Myst, and the Vampiric Fae. Everything that happens between the pages, however, is more (good) drama than I could imagine. This is not an easy read, it takes time to fully grasp what is happening and where the story is going. Occasionally I had to turn back pages to figure out what I missed. However, this is not at the fault of the author, as I believe the story is fantastically written. It is more or less the amount of energy it takes to process all that this author is able to write. I am usually turned off by books that have too much in the story because I often feel lost and ultimately bored. What makes this story different is that regardless if I was confused or even lost, there was never a dull moment and it kept me wanting to read to see what would happen next. A good read for all, a great read for those who love paranormal romance, and a fantastic read for all the Yasmine Galenorn fans out there!
