A Bite's Tale

A Furry Fable

Two childhood friends, who never knew each others name, developed a relationship they never thought could be tested. At least until "Jack's" Cinderella turned into a werewolf and attacked him, forcing her to flee back to the United States. For Jack a different fate awaited. For he was the prince and future king of the island nation of Ile de la Paix, a nation where werewolves, vampires, warlocks, witches, and humans lived together peacefully.

Three years later, following the death of her mother, Cydney Ella Marsten returned to Ile de la Paix to live with her Aunt. She lives in fear of not being able to control her wolf and even worse she never learned what happened to her "Jack".

The King declares that Prince Remy must find a wife and will do so at a ball where all the girls must attend. Even worse someone has it out for the Vampire Prince as well as the King. Remy doesn't want to be forced to marry anyone and while he hasn't seen his one love for three years, she is the only girl for him. The biggest problems are that he doesn't know her name and even if he did, she has no intention of going to the ball in the first place.

Veronica Blade does a marvelous job spinning a modern Cinderella type tale. While it doesn't follow "Cinderella" in hardly any way, it truly is the only way to describe the story. Readers will find themselves endeared to the characters and while in many ways the book is predictable it does have some twists that readers will enjoy.

As far as I know "A Bite's Tale" is not part of any planned series and works well being a stand alone book. I have to admit I would love to learn about the future of Ile de la Paix and its inhabitants. It was a very enjoyable story set in a believable world that will keep its readers turning page after page. Very recommended!
