I don’t know how she does it. Once again, author Victoria Danann has managed to create an epic world, and with it, a brand new magical cast of characters to enchant readers. Let me tell you, I was enchanted from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down! The story of Willem is one of love and loss, power and strife. Willem and Ravish are tremendously strong characters, and each has a characteristic that I found to be highly relatable. The rest of the characters are engaging and amazing, and I am very eager to embrace the wonderful world of the Witches of Wimberley once again.
What would you do if someone offered you’re your deepest wish? Would you accept? Decline? Or would you think twice, not knowing if it’s what you really desire. This is exactly the conundrum Willem has to endure. After 10 years of chasing the actor’s life, with nothing to show for it, a card is given to him. With this card comes an audition of sorts. When Willem succeeds, as he does with nearly everything he touches, he’s astounded to find his prize: Ravish, a stunning, brilliant witch. She offers him everything; can he trust his heart to lead him right? Or will he risk it all and follow his head, and lose all that he holds dear?
This is the first book in the new series, The Witches of Wimberley.
Willem is an out of work actor. He gave himself ten years to make it and never got a single paying job. While waiting for what would probably be his last audition ever, the guy standing behind him in line gave him a card with a phone number and said, “If you’re definitely quitting, try the witches.”
He took the card for the sake of being polite and planned to throw it away. But he didn’t throw it away. He called the number, entered the annual competition to win a witch, and won. To his amazement, he got everything he’d ever wanted from life, even things he hadn't known he wanted, but in the end he would have to choose what was more important? Being happy or being commitment-free.
