UnEnchanted is a tale that many ladies can, in some way, identify with, and it is still fantastical. It is one of those novels that reminded me of when I was a teenager, gawky and awkward and not at all sure of anything at all. It also made me smile with the heartwarming tenderness of the story, as well as the hilarious and sometimes nail-biting situations Mina finds herself in. This is one novel that utterly charmed me, and I look forward to move books in this series. This is a novel that readers across the board will love. I most definitely did.
Mina Grime has an unfortunate propensity for accidents. From tripping over the smallest item and falling on her face to accidentally knocking the hottest boy in class over a safety rail and nearly falling off herself to save him, she has done it all. And that last disaster was a doozy. When her mother finally reveals that she is the heir to the Grimm fairy tales, Mina is shocked, to say the least. So what is a quiet, unassuming, clumsy teenage girl to do knowing she is the heir to a curse? Why, fight it in any way possible, of course. With the help of friends and family, Mina will come up against catty teenage girls, uncontrollable supernatural events, and more to break the Grimm fairy tale curse.
Mina Grime is unlucky, unpopular and uncoordinated, that is until she saves her crushes life on a field trip, changing her High School status from loser to hero overnight. But with her new found fame brings misfortune in the form of an old family curse come to light. For Mina is descended from the Brothers Grimm and has inherited all of their unfinished fairy tale business. Which includes trying to outwit a powerful Story from making her it's next fairytale victim.
To break the fairy tale curse on her family and make these deadly occurrences stop, Mina must finish the tales until the very Grimm end.
