Author Vanessa Kelly has another incredible book on her hands! This novel is book 2 in the Improper Princesses series, and it’s a spinoff series from my absolute favorites, The Renegade Rogues! I was pleasantly surprised to meet old friends (Dominic and Chloe, Griffin, Gillian and more), and intrigued to meet new ones, namely Lia Kincaid. Lia is a sweet, charming, brilliant young lady, who lets her mind get her into way too much trouble. Jack Easton, her best friend and companion, is a tough, intelligent man, now a Marquess. I fell hard for both. I found the story to be highly engaging, as well as wildly outrageous fun. There’s plenty of sizzle, and just the right amount of sweet. This is going on my ever-growing favorites stack!
Lia Kincaid knows that her life will never be easy. Having virtually grown up in the wilds of Yorkshire, even she is aware of the slanders against her family name. The Notorious Kincaid’s were whispered about in the darkest corners of London! So even though Lia knows Jack, knows Stonefell, and knows her place in society, even she is floored when Jack, her longtime friend and ally, states that Stonefell is in dire straits. And then the chaos ensues. To save herself and her grandmother, Lia sets out on a few absolutely insane notions. When Jack realizes what she’s done, he’s almost beside himself. He’s worried about her, but he’s also worried about Stonefell. So, off Jack goes, trying to catch his wily vixen before she hits London. When she vanishes, he’s terrified he will never see her again. With the help of several allies, they track her down, and put an end to her madcap antics. In a last ditch effort, Lia gets herself kidnapped….will Jack save her in time? Can he convince her of his love? Or will he lose her forever?
In Vanessa Kelly's captivating series, three young women are descended from royalty--in the most improper way. But that doesn't stop them from pursuing lives rich in adventure. . .
Lia Kincaid, illegitimate daughter of the Duke of York, comes from a long line of notorious women. Raised by her grandmother, formerly mistress to the late Marquess of Lendale, she has little hope of a respectable marriage. But the new marquess, her childhood friend, Jack Easton, would make a very desirable protector . . . if he weren't too honorable to take her to bed.
It's bad enough being saddled with a title he never desired. Now Jack must resist the beautiful woman he desires far too much. Duty calls, and he is duty-bound to choose a wealthy bride. But then Lia makes another outrageous suggestion: asking Jack to devise some tests to find her the perfect paramour. Tests that involve flirting, kissing, and other pleasurable pursuits. Tests that, in a matter of weeks, could transform friendship into the ton's greatest scandal, igniting a passion even duty can't deny. . .
