Sonata is a beautiful tale that involves two of this readers favorite things, jewelry and world class music. The story is told from the points of view of the two leads, Sayuki and Michael, and written in such a way as to draw the reader in and not let go. The characters in the novel are enticing and wholly engaging, and written in such a way that the reader feels as if they know the characters personally. I found Sonata to be a charming novel that left me laughing out loud in parts and gnawing nails in others. It was a delight to read. My only suggestion is to enjoy this novel with the music of a good cello. It makes it just that more perfect.

Sayuki McAllister is the daughter of a Canadian tech magnate and his beautiful Japanese wife. She is also a world class cellist. Michael Donovan is a man from her past that she never expected to see again. What follows is a wild ride filled with sizzling romance, magnificent music, and the dregs of humanity hell bent on revenge and murderer. And most importantly, can Michael convince Sayuki that he is the only one for her? Take a trip to Vancouver and find out.
