What a ride! Scarlet Rain is the second book in author Kristin Cast’s fabulous new series, The Escaped, and it is outstanding! The novel picks up right where Amber Smoke left off. It’s a wild ride of Grecian deities, demonic terrors, and more than a little sizzling romance. All of the characters from the previous book are back and more than ready to handle anything the Underworld can throw at them. Eva is growing in her powers, as is Alek, and Bridget has some surprises of her own. I grew to love them all even more. I do suggest reading the books in order. This is a wild and crazy roller coaster novel that I adored, and I know loads of others will love it as much as I did!
Alek finally found Eva, and they’ve finally connected. Eva is still confused about what exactly is going on, but with Alek, she is content to work together to figure it out. Unfortunately, as Eva and Alek are figuring their own issues out, an unknown denizen of The Underworld has escaped, and is actively seeking to take over Tulsa. As they leave trails of bodies behind, Eva and Alek work to figure out what they are. When they figure it out, both know that they are in deep trouble. Riding to the rescue is Bridget, who, somehow, always manages to figure out a plan. Add to the mix an unexpected ally of Detective James Graham, and the stakes grow exponentially. The Nosoi are loose and Tulsa is in trouble. Eva, Alek, Bridget, and James will try everything in their collective power to stop them, but the question remains: can they stop them before it’s too late?
The co-author of the New York Times bestselling House of Night series returns with the mesmerizing second book in The Escaped series.
