It’s always a thrill to find a new romance that is the start of a delightful and enchanting original series! "Romancing The Duke" is the start of the new series, 'Castles Ever After', by author Tessa Dare. This delightfully captivating novel is cute and quirky, with just the right amount of spice and humor to make it a great spring read. The characters are smart and sassy, and each has more than enough attitude to make the story very interesting. Having read other novels by Ms. Dare, I found this one to be quite a bit more humorous than previous novels, and I am of the opinion that both new readers and current fans will both adore this book, just as I did.
Isolde Goodnight--Izzy to her friends, not that she has many of those--has given up on romance. As the daughter of a celebrated author, she knows that the fairy tales of knights and ladies fair are just that: fairy tales. She’s 26, with no home, no family, and no prospects. So, when a letter arrives directing her to an inherited castle, she goes, carrying her scant possessions and her pet ermine. What she gets when she arrives she most certainly does not expect. Upon her arrival, Ransom, the former owner of the castle, comes walking out. He is still residing there. Shortly after Izzy’s arrival, the not-so-friendly Duke, who still assumes he has ownership, meets Izzy, who has the letter proving her ownership, and she promptly faints after several days with no food. Ransom and Izzy must try to figure out how the castle changed ownership without anyone’s knowledge, and in the meantime, sparks fly, and tempers flare. Let the hilarity ensue.

As the daughter of a famed author, Isolde Ophelia Goodnight grew up on tales of brave knights and fair maidens. She never doubted romance would be in her future, too. The storybooks offered endless possibilities.
And as she grew older, Izzy crossed them off. One by one by one.
