How to School Your Scoundrel

A Princess in Hiding Romance, #2

After reading the previous two Princess in Hiding books, this was a beautiful and perfect conclusion to the trilogy. This is Luisa’s tale. I found this novel to be a bit more serious in tone than the previous books, but that may have been simply because this novel fully resolves numerous mysteries from the previous books. Please don’t get me wrong, there is still plenty of romance, and quite a bit of light hearted humor. I found the characters, both new acquaintances and well-loved friends, to be engaging and entirely delightful, just as they have been from the start. I would recommend reading the books in order, although they are all well able to stand on their own merits. I would highly recommend this book, and this series, for a delightful, adventurous summer read!

Luisa, heir to the throne of Holstein-Schweinwald-Huhnhoff, is in a bit of a pickle. She is in disguise, working as a secretary to spy-master Philip, the Earl of Somerton. Somerton is a hard man, very demanding, and he is determined to find hard evidence that his wife Elizabeth is cheating on him. As his secretary, Luisa, in her manly disguise, is often required to perform tasks that she would rather not do. As Luisa has very pressing problems of her own, she eventually questions the orders given her, which Somerton is not accustomed to. She/He suddenly becomes Somerton’s right hand man! As Somerton and Luisa learn to trust each other, Luisa’s past is starting to catch up to her very rapidly. Once it comes crashing in on them, can they work together and save not only Luisa, but also her country and their hearts as well?
