Hotshot is a book that is just as the name implies, full of hot stuff and very hard to put down. As a long time fan of Ms. Garwood’s work, it was an honor to read and be able to review her latest book, and this novel did not disappoint at all. Full of twists and turns, it is bursting with more spine tingling suspense and hotter than sin romance than many books I’ve recently read. The characters are so well developed and easily relatable that it’s easy to like them. Hotshot is a book that readers everywhere will flock to, and both new and old fans will adore this book as much as I did.
Peyton Lockhart has landed the job of a lifetime. As a food critic for a nationally known magazine, she will have access to the best restaurants and chefs in the world. Or so she thinks. When her new job turns into a horrible nightmare, she has no choice but to run and when she does, she runs right into a ghost from her past, Finn McBain. As a child, Finn had saved her life and as he grew, Finn competed in the Olympics in swimming, so she knew he was a hotshot. What she didn’t know is that Finn now worked for the FBI. Or that someone was intent on removing Peyton from the land of the living. As Peyton and her sisters receive the offer of a lifetime from their uncle and relocate from Texas to the Gulf Coast of Florida, the situation takes an explosive turn and Peyton is not sure who she can trust. Will she survive? Is this a battle worth fighting? And will Finn be able to stop the madman who is breathing down her pretty neck?
#1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood returns with a novel of family drama, suspense, and?of course?romance.
Peyton Lockhart and her sisters have inherited Bishop’s Cove, a small, luxurious oceanfront resort, but it comes with a condition: The girls must run the resort for one year and show a profit?only then will they own it.
A graduate of a prestigious French culinary school, Peyton has just lost her job as a food critic. Out of work and in a bad place personally, a year doing something completely different sounds wonderful.
There are countless challenges and too many people who want to stop the sisters from succeeding. Among them are Peyton’s contentious cousins, who are outraged that they didn’t inherit the resort, as well as a powerful group of land developers who have been eyeing the coveted beachfront property.
It’s soon apparent to Peyton that their efforts are being sabotaged, but she refuses to let the threats scare her?until she’s nearly killed. She calls on her childhood friend and protector, Finn MacBain, now with the FBI, and asks for his help. He saved her life once; he can do it again.
Julie’s previous two titles, The Ideal Man and Sweet Talk, both debuted at #2 on the New York Times bestseller list.
