Woohoo! Author Jordan K. Rose has another rock solid hit on her hands, with a sizzling vampire lead! His Vampire Past is the 4th novel in the Romance in Central City series, and it is an absolute blast to read! Author Jordan K. Rose has created an epic world for the Central City Vampires, and in each novel, they take the city by storm. The story is very fast paced, and never once slows down. All of my favorite vampires are back in this episode, and as a reader, it was thrilling to discover more about these enigmatic men. Ms. Rose has created a lifelong fan with this series, and it just keeps getting better and better.
Serge is a man on a mission. Panthera Labs is on the hunt for a vampire, and Serge, much to their chagrin, is the one they set their sights on. As the leader of The Vampire Guard, Serge is not about to let this occur. He is also adamant that each member of the Guard is up to speed, and is ready to fight, should the need arise. Serge has been going out at night, and meeting a young lady by the name of Harriet. Harriet has always believed vampires to be mythical, and Serge does everything he can to make sure she does not know about them. Until she starts to remember his nightly visits. Once Serge knows that Harriet is aware, he knows he can stop at nothing to protect her, and the secrets of The Vampire Guard. When Harriet awakens in Serge’s bedroom, she is beyond furious. Serge is at his wits end, and she is determined to leave. But Serge has realized something. He is falling for his feisty blood donor. As confusing as that is to him, he knows that, regardless of his feelings (or hers) he must do everything in his power to protect her and keep her safe. Now, if he can only convince Harriet of this….
The hunt is on.
Panthera Laboratories wants a vampire for their experiments. But not just any vampire. They want The Vampire Guard’s leader. The best way to lure him to them is to find his weakness. Who does Serge love?
In all his 800 years Serge has not allowed himself to feel the deep and honest love of a woman. Not until he meets the lovely gas station attendant at one of Central City’s convenience marts. Something about the woman draws him back night after night. It’s not just the sweet taste of her blood that intoxicates him. She is the light in his dark world. He finds himself talking to her for hours at a time, unburdening himself of his deepest, darkest sins.
Harriet Winslow has heard the tales of vampires. Rumors. Myths. Nothing more. At least that’s what she thought until the sexy stranger arrives. At first she’s unable to remember the details of his nightly visits. But in only a few nights time she can no longer forget the sound of his voice. The scent of his body. The details of his terrifying past, or the feel of his lips on her skin. She’ll never be able to forget him. She never wants to lose him.
When Serge realizes his selfish need for acceptance has put Harriet in danger, he’s forced to move her from Central City, to send her as far away from him as possible to keep her safe. But can he live without her near him? Will she forgive him for destroying her life?
