As a long-time reader of the wonderful Ms. Victoria Danann, I have loved The Knights of the Black Swan since their inception. I have also realized that my favorite heroes are aging. Falcon: Resistance introduces us to the new class of knights, all of whom we’ve met before. I was hooked on the book from the very first page. I found Falcon to be highly intriguing, addictive, and all around awesome. I laughed out loud, I ugly cried, and overall fell in love all over again with this new class.
Kristoph Falcon has had a very interesting year. Previously, his team of friends, also known as knights, had bravely stepped in to a massive firefight to defend Jefferson Unit, forever cementing them together. Now they’re all grown, and they are the new team to go out on patrol. Falcon has also had more than enough of women. After going AWOL and chasing a girl from New York to Paris, the last thing he expects to feel is the spark of a new attraction. And the nightly jaunts as Knights into the heart of New York have gotten very interesting too. Falcon is totally unsure of what to do with either situation. After an unknown ally makes himself known, Falcon slowly begins to realize just what he must do. As the vampire virus has taken a vicious hold on the city, everyone at Black Swan, new allies included, are on an all-out war to slow or stop it. The last thing Falcon needs now is a relationship. And that’s just what he’s going to get, ready or not. And then tragedy strikes, throwing everyone off. Can Falcon trust his heart not to blow it? Can Black Swan recover from the tragedy that takes one of their own?
IT'S THEIR TURN!
The next generation of the Knights of Black Swan have been inducted and vested with all the privileges and responsibilities of the legends in whose shadows they took their training. They are coming into their prime as servants of The Order, but still have most of their lives ahead. Or so each one hopes.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Victoria Danann, brings us a sizzling new take on the Knights of Black Swan. The boys are all grown up and bursting at the seams looking for action..
Kristoph Falcon and his best friend were the only trainees to be decorated in the entire five hundred year history of the order. While still teenagers, in the heat of battle, they'd fearlessly defended Jefferson Unit with the calm and control of seasoned knights. They'd also accidentally crossed paths with active duty knights on rotation one night in New York and taken point on a vampire run down. The year before, Falcon had gone AWOL to chase down a girl who didn't return his affection. Since there were extenuating circumstances, meaning that she'd been turned vampire, Black Swan eventually allowed him to return to duty.
He's patched up psychologically and in his physical prime, but his emotions are still a tangled mess. The three teammates, who look up to him as the de facto leader of K Team, know it, but don't know what to do. With the vampire incursion growing exponentially they need him at his best, but are at a loss until they see him running from the overtures of a cute and perky new Operations Manager. She might just the medicine he needs to get his head back on straight and the sugar he needs to get his heart pumping again.
