Black Magic Rose

The Alliance, #1

Black Magic Rose was such an incredibly fun book to read. I’ve always been a fan of vampires and werewolves, and yes, I did read Twilight. This book is so much more than that. I found this enchanting novel to be very fast paced, and never quite what I expected, which absolutely thrilled me. I love surprises, and this book had no shortage of surprises. I adore all of the characters. They are all very likeable, and each one will attract readers with their fierce attitudes, their fiery independence, and their undying loyalty. I sincerely hope there will be more in this series, as this is book 1. I can say this is a fantastic entry into what will be a stunning series.

Sofia Engle thought she had her life under control. She was the Employee Relations Manager at Cader House Hospital, and, while the employees are not normal (they are vampires and werewolves, for the most part), she felt she had most things well under control. That is, until the director, Dr. MacDuff, assigns her a bodyguard. During the day, her bodyguard is Osgar, a werewolf she has no problem with at all. It’s the night bodyguard she has a problem with. His name is Dragomir Petrescu. And he’s a vampire. Ewww. Sofia doesn’t understand the need for these two, but she goes along with it anyway. When someone threatens to kill Sofia, she begins to understand a bit why they are needed. When a threat is levied against Dragomir, Sofia jumps in to save him. In the process, she ties herself to him as his mate, unknowingly. What will happen when she realizes what she’s done? Can she reconcile being a vampire’s mate? Can they stop the threats against her? Or will it all be for naught?

Book Blurb for Black Magic Rose

Is it possible to reduce the amount of workplace violence in an organization run by vampires and werewolves? Sofia Engle, the new Employee Relations Manager at Cader House Hospital is about to find out, and she may not like the answer, or the series of firsts she experiences: first human employee at Cader House, first day tardy, first kiss with a dead guy. Well, maybe kissing the dead guy wasn't the worst of it after all.

For nearly 600 years Dragomir Petrescu has fought for The Alliance. As one of the most skilled warriors the Alliance has ever seen he's killed a lot of people and won many difficult battles. But his newest human adversary is turning out to be a worthier opponent than any he's met. Just the scent of her disarms him, never mind her endless policies and silly ideals about civility.

Can he possibly keep her safe from Alliance enemies, hospital employees and himself? The term Employee Relations is about to have a whole new meaning.
