Amazon Heat

The story of Amazon Heat is a story of love and loss, tragedy and triumph, and overall, everlasting love, adventure and friendship. The story is about Elizabeth, a botanical researcher searching for the cure for cancer. She stumbles into a situation beyond her wildest dreams, finding herself captive in a cordial yes still hostile society. She is free to move about the compound but unable to leave. It is also the story of Logan, Elizabeth’s long lost love she left two years prior. He comes searching for her, and after a devastating injury, finds himself a guest of the same society Elizabeth is part of. Add in the small slave girl, Mari, and the three of them have a rip roaring adventure trying to escape their situation and still salvage a relationship. Will they all escape and live to be free once again?

I won’t spoil it for anyone, so I won’t tell. I will tell you that this is a terrifically fun novel, a little on the short side, but with plenty of room for a sequel or another continuation story. The characters are artfully crafted and are fully complex, which can be a kind of difficult in a shorter novel. However, it was accomplished with ease in this novel. This was such terrific fun I finished it in one day. I could not put it down!

Driven by grief to find a cure for cancer, Elizabeth DeMarco left Logan Spencer to accept a position on a research expedition to the Amazon rainforest. Kidnapped by guerrillas, she was saved by a secret all-female civilization, the last of the ancient Amazons. But Elizabeth discovers she's traded one form of captivity for another.

Logan never stopped searching for Elizabeth. While consulting in the remote Brazilian interior near where she was kidnapped, Logan suffers what should be a fatal fall. Near death, he's collected by the Amazons and magically healed. Elizabeth is the first person he sees as he wakes.

But there's no time for a joyful reunion. The Amazons' mystical medicine is rapidly changing Logan. They want his DNA and plan to take it—and then kill him. Logan and Elizabeth must escape before dawn or Logan—and their second chance at happiness—is doomed.
