Missy Lyons’ book, The Rapture, gives the reader a unique look into the world she has built.
In this short story, Genevieve is an Elisaid, one of the cursed Druids, who has cast a spell in order to seduce the King of Demons. However, her plans go awry when she experiences the legendary demon Rapture with the king’s uncle, Trax.
This book isn’t so much about love between a male and female, as it is about the love for a child. Missy Lyons characters have a strong presence and seem to jump of page. The romance in this book is very subdued and the dark eroticism of the demon world and human failings play a formidable part of this story.
I like how the author writes this book, she shows us that the consequences of our actions are not what we always foresee and we have to live with them, even if they break our heart. I also like her descriptions of the Rapture, and when her characters experience it, the scene comes out red hot. I recommend this book, and can’t wait to read more from this author, and hopefully more about the Rapture.
The lure of a demon lover is difficult to resist, and impossible to leave, because sex is highly addictive. Sex with a demon is known as the rapture, since it brings absolute pleasure so intense that it is almost painful. But is the price worth gambling your life and your freedom?
