Fever, Book 3
Karen Marie Moning’s latest book, Faefever, is the third book in her Fever series. This book is a dark urban fantasy that has quite a few surprises that the readers will not be expecting.
MacKayla continues her dangerous search for the deadly Sinsar Dubh. In this installment, she is trying to surround herself with as many allies as she can and is trying to gather as much information about her sister and the Lord Master she can find. As Halloween approaches the danger builds because the walls between the human and Fae realms are about to collapse. Barrons and V’Lane are also pushing her for information about the book and wanting her to do things that are in their best interests, which is driving Mac crazy. After this books ending, we can only imagine and anticipate what Karen Marie Moning has in store for us in the next book of the series.
This book as well as the series is engaging and complex. It’s a definite page-turner with entertaining characters and an intriguingly woven plot. While this series is a departure from her usual work, it still carries the magic she brings to the story in a wonderfully dark way. I recommend that people who haven’t read the other books in this series, should read those before reading this because there are things that just won’t make sense if you read this as a stand alone. I can’t wait for Dreamfever, the next book in the series.
Book Blurb for Faefever
He calls me his Queen of the Night. I'd die for him. I'd kill for him, too. When MacKayla Lane receives a torn page from her dead sister's journal, she is stunned by Alina's desperate words. And now MacKayla knows that her sister's killer is close. But evil is closer. And suddenly the sidhe-seer is on the hunt: For answers. For revenge. And for an ancient book of dark magic so evil, it corrupts anyone who touches it.
Mac's quest for the Sinsar Dubh takes her into the mean, shape-shifting streets of Dublin, with a suspicious cop on her tail. Forced into a dangerous triangle of alliance with V'lane, an insatiable Fae prince of lethally erotic tastes, and Jericho Barrons, a man of primal desires and untold secrets, Mac is soon locked in a battle for her body, mind, and soul.
As All Hallows Eve approaches and the city descends into chaos, as a shocking truth about the Dark Book is uncovered, not even Mac can prevent a deadly race of immortals from shattering the walls between worlds with devastating consequences.
