Origin to Exile

Day by Day Armageddon, #1

The zombie apocalypse has happened and the entire world is overrun with the walking dead. Through the journal pages of one survivor the chilling and terrifying new world unfolds, leaving readers breathlessly anticipating the next frightening encounter.

In a hot arid Texas town, one man struggles to survive in the face of hordes of undead, nuclear destruction of large cities and other survivors who have turned to murder and mayhem against their fellow man. Along the way he saves others from certain death and finds himself as the leader of their ragtag group. Staying on the move proves to be one of the few ways to stay alive until the weary group comes across an abandoned nuclear missile facility. Finally they feel somewhat safe and can relax…

…until bandits and then the military shows up to take their property. It is bad enough that they have to fight against the undead. Now they must fight some of the few survivors left in the world just to keep their home.

This book duo was wonderfully thrilling. With great attention to detail, J.L.Bourne paints a dark and horrifying landscape that kept my heart racing. The story felt so realistic that the reader feels the dread and fear right along with the survivors when the undead show up to eat them. It was fast paced and action packed. The main hero has the odds stacked against him time and again and the zombies were gruesome and terrifying. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to know what happened next. I can hardly wait for book 3 in the series (Day By Day Armageddon: Shattered Hourglass) to come out later in the year.
