Naked Sushi

I was sorely disappointed with how poorly the plot of Naked Sushi turned out! Though, well written I found the characters to be deeply immature. As published under the Cosmo Red-Hot Reads from Harlequin this book was a major let down.

My first impression of Pepper, the heroine was how childish she is. In her twenties Pepper likes to pretend that she is a spy. So when she finds a stranger making illegal copies of her boss's most important documents she loses her job. Having always wanted to prove her spy-like abilities Pepper discovers the stranger is actually an FBI Agent investigating Pepper's former boss. Pepper's first encounter with Steve leads to weird copier sex which I found to be rather awkward and not all sexy.

Together, Pepper and Steve lead a secretive operation into the depths of Pepper's boss try identity. The novella is filled with weird sex scenes and I do not think it is recommended for readers that are easily weirded out by engrossing sexual experiences. Also, the dialogue of the book lacked conviction and the characters chemistry failed short of impressing me.

I think perhaps what is my biggest flaw with this novella was how ditzy and annoying Pepper proved to be. It was nearly impossible to connect or even to like her. She quickly grew to be one of my least favorite heroines. I would have liked discovering more about Steve as well. Since the novella is written in first person the only taste of Steve I was able to have was through the eyes of Pepper.

Together both Pepper and Steve proved to be hormonal teenagers unable to keep their hands off each other even when they are surrounded by the enemies. I am not saying that this novella was the worst I have ever read, because it isn't. In the end it is not material that I would ever care to read again.

Book Blurb for Naked Sushi

A Delicious Mistake

One day I'm getting canned from my job as a computer programmer for having wild copy-room sex with a guy I thought was the new game designer. The next, I'm crashing my ex-boss's business lunch in a creative attempt to get my job back, and men are eating sushi off my naked body!

That's when I realize

a) My ex-boss is hiding corporate secrets

b) Hot copy-room guy is an undercover FBI agent

c) I would make a kick-ass spy!

Then Special Agent Hottie brings out his cuffs, and things get really interesting….
