From the moment I heard that Cosmopolitan Magazine and Harlequin were joining forces to create a line I became thrilled with the idea. Sadly, the novella titled Fearless I found to be rather immature. I wasn't the least bit thrilled with how teeny the heroine and her friends were. I was expecting a book of hot sex, fearless females, but what I got was instead pillow fights and boppy dialogue that is suited for the younger generation of the world.
The book begins when Gia Renyard, the heroine is having a slumber party with her college girlfriends who have officially named themselves the Girlz Guide to Rockin Life. Gia herself is stuck in a major funk and is desperate to have a night of anonymous, wild, once-in-a-lifetime sex. Vegas seems like the ideal place to make such a desperation into that of a reality.
Luke Monroe's sex life is hotter than his friend's according to his network account. Luke loves women and takes pride in the fact that he can take cues from movies and from books. A trip to Vegas for his job lands Luke into the bed of Gia Renyard and together the two of them have the best sex of their lives, but sex comes with commitment and neither Gia nor Luke are ready for the kind of chemistry that presents itself from outside of the bedroom.
This book was a complete let down for me from the beginning. I expected more mature characters who took their careers seriously. The setting in Vegas was easy to guess and I didn't find the bright lights and the phrase “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” to be all that rewarding. The heroine was overbearing and hard to connect with. The sex scenes were dull, I expeced more from a magazine that is known for its sexual articles. Overall I do not think that this book should have been published for the Cosmo Red-Hot Reads from Harlequin because it was anything, but hot.

There's just one thing missing from Gia Renyard's life: sexual adventure. And the one man she'd like to have it with is her hot coworker Luke Monroe. If only company rules didn't prohibit her from asking him out… So Gia comes up with a plan: make herself over into a fantasy seductress, follow Luke to a convention in Sin City and have her way with him for one erotic weekend. The man will never even know who did him.
Everything is going according to plan—until Gia discovers that Luke is perfect for her outside/em> the bedroom, too. And suddenly she's no longer content to let what happens in Vegas stay in Vegas….
