Finally, a novel that can compare with a Hollywood film! After the Kiss is a humorous, romantic read that fans of “How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days” are sure to love!
Julie Greene has built a career out of falling in love. Staying in love? Well, that's another story. Julie is one of the senior columnists at Stiletto Magazine, a magazine for women. Young, beautiful and talented Julie knows exactly what she wants out of men, both in and out of the bedroom. One night stands are accepted! The last thing Julie wants or needs is a major life that involves yoga pants and movie nights. So when her boss suddenly makes the demand that Julie write an article about how to get from first date to I do, Julie is skeptical. After all she is not exactly major relationship material. When Julie's nemesis is chosen as her alternate, Julie knows that she has to find a guy, convince him that she is relationship material and fall in love. That should be simple enough. Only Julie never expected to find that opposites attract and a true love is not a fantasy but is a reality.
Mitchell Forbes is sexy, successful and knows exactly how to handle women like Stiletto columnist Julie Green. Mitchell falls for the brainy, opinionated beauty, never counting on the fact that Julie is hiding a secret. She's writing a juicy relationship article and Mitchell is the main course! There is a chance that Julie's love for him is real, but in order for Mitchell to know he will have to forgive the woman that he loves and surrender to his instincts.
I loved this book! It was idyllic for a shorter read. In a world where women rely on fashion publications for advice, I think author Lauren Layne perfected it! My only complaint is that I wish the book would have been a tab bit longer! If you’re looking for tips on what it means to fall in love and falter as a woman while trying to attempt life's greatest reward, then look no further than After the Kiss!
Special thanks to Random House-Loveswept for entrusting me to review this arc!
In the first book of a delightful new series from Lauren Layne, the star columnist of Stiletto magazine will do anything for a story. Anything . . . except fall in love.
Julie Greene loves flings. Loves steamy first dates, sizzling first kisses, and every now and then, that first sexy romp between the sheets. Comfy pants, sleepy Sundays, movie nights on the couch? Shudder. But when Julie gets assigned the hardest story of her career—a first-person account of that magical shift between dating and “I do”—she’ll need a man brave enough to give a total commitment-phobe a chance at more.
Normally, Mitchell Forbes would be exactly that man. A devastatingly hot workaholic who tends to stay in relationships for far too long, he should be the perfect subject for Julie’s “research.” But what Julie doesn’t know is that Mitchell is looking to cut loose for once in his life. And the leggy journalist notorious for avoiding love is exactly the type of no-strings fling he’s looking for. In other words, Mitchell is the polar opposite of what Julie needs right now. And, at the same time, he’s exactly what she wants.
