Emerald Moon by Ann Mayburn is a 1 Night Stand short story as well as book 4 in Ann's Pride of the Moon Series.
Ben Hanson is a werepuma who was part of the Shifter division of the Marines Special Ops unit. Medically discharged after being diagnosed with severe PTSD he returns to North Carolina and the Amber Moon Pack.
As a birthday gift Ben's Alpha and beta females set him up on a blind date. Ben agrees and secretly wishes for someone to help mend his broken spirit.
But as fate is always very fickle you should be very careful what you wish for.
For a short story it was very fast paced and filled with a lot of information. But I couldn't help but wonder how much more I would have enjoyed this story if it were just a little bit longer.
Ben Hanson had long ago given up on love, refusing to believe he was worthy of it. When he is given the gift of a 1Night Stand blind date, he goes into it expecting nothing more than a night of savage pleasure. Instead he finds the missing piece of his heart.
Jude Carson has an impossible task in front of him. He has to convince the man he hasn't seen in fifteen years that he still loves him with all of his heart and wants him back. A task made even more difficult by the horrible circumstances that led to their parting and tore their former pride apart.
Ben will have to learn that sometimes the hardest person to forgive is himself if he wants a second chance at the greatest joy he has ever known.
