The scenes and details are well written and capture the imagination making it easy for the reader to become immersed in the story while the intriguing events keeps the readers glued to the pages and unexpected twists keeps them on their toes and the awakening of Madison’s gift adds quite a bit of magical spice.
The author’s world is fascinating with lots of interesting and different elements and I was completely enthralled with the story from the very beginning. I haven’t read the Cassie Scot series (yet) so it was a pleasant surprise when I was checking out the other books by Christine Amsden and I discovered this book is part of the same world, so I would like to point out that while the characters are connected, this story can be read as a standalone.
