The first book in the Blood of the Pride series is paranormal world with feline shifters, suspense, action and romance.
The heroine of the story Rebecca or Reb is a private investigator in the human world. Her estranged family wants her to investigate the murder of one their own and how a reporter found a photo of it. When she meets the reporter things become even more complicated.
The plot has several different conflicts going on at the same time keeping the reader very engaged in the story. The author describes the emotions, drama and suspense in the story in vivid detail. The reader has no problem picturing the events as they take place. The flow of the story is very smooth, not leaving any confusion as to what is taking place or how the characters are interacting in this world. The characters are strong, believable characters that capture the imagination and keep the reader entertained. I especially liked Reb and Bran, both with their snarky kind of humor and their tough, never give up attitudes.
I was impressed with the dialogue throughout the story as the Felines try to work around keeping their secrets when talking to humans, the conversations flowed smoothly, causing no confusion to the reader or interrupting the story line.
I also liked the way the author wrapped up the current conflicts and didn’t leave everyone with a major cliffhanger, but keeping the reader wanting to know more about the characters and this intriguing world.
