On Sebastian Blume's eighteenth birthday his life was forever changed. Working a small plot of land and trying to care for his mother and his siblings, he dreamed of a better life. Whisked away to an opulent castle by a beautiful man with lavender eyes, it would seem that Sebastian would have his dream. Shade was a gentle and considerate lover although clearly a fey creature. Soon though, Shade left Sebastian alone for days on end. Loneliness became his constant companion. With anger and sorrow affecting his judgement, Sebastian's actions ultimately risk both his and Shade's life.
This is a very odd story. I wasn't too fond of Shade throughout most of the book. The plot has a few surprises and the sex is really steamy. Ultimately the whole tale did come together and I found a very interesting and unique story. If you're looking for something different, this one won't disappoint you. Part fairytale, part erotic romance, Violet Tresses will keep you entertained. This is my first book by this author and I will be looking for more.
All Sebastian Blume has ever wanted is to escape the hardship of peasant life. When a mysterious man, Herr Schadenfreud, comes to claim him on his eighteenth birthday, the young man is frightened and confused. While the exotic and beautiful aristocrat is kind and indulgent toward Sebastian, he also subjects him to long periods of loneliness and isolation while he's away. Sebastian doesn't know whether his new life is a dream come true, or punishment for his wicked desires.
