In less than 30 pages, the author manages to do what stories three times that long often fail to do - define a loving bdsm relationship. Marcus never thought he wanted a live-in sub but has little choice when his friend Julian dies and leaves behind a damaged sub. Charlie was abused, both physically and mentally, after being sold into sexual slavery. Marcus loves Charlie but doesn't know how to be a Dom in love.
Gripping and emotional, the story follows Marcus as he tries to come to terms with his own feelings and Charlie's needs. Learning to change his style is hard for Marcus but the rewards will be worth it. We only see Marcus' point of view but I really liked the way the author explores his uncertainty. A powerful Dom, Marcus has seldom questioned his actions but now he views everything through different eyes. An insightful and tender story(well as tender as a harsh spanking gets), Relearning the Ropes offers the reader a glance at loving D/s relationship and power of that love.
Marcus will have to set aside his old theories about BDSM and relearn the ropes to be the Dom Charlie needs.
When his good friend Julius dies unexpectedly, Marcus finds himself saddled with a new submissive–Charlie. But Charlie comes with a history, and more pain and need than Marcus has ever encountered. Marcus knows he loves Charlie, and Charlie loves him, but Marcus must set aside his old theories about BDSM and relearn the ropes if he wants to be the Dom—and the lover—they both need.
