Masked Cowboy

Men of the White Sandy, Book 2

I don't usually read cowboy romances, especially contemporary ones. However, the blurb and cover for Masked Cowboy was very intriguing so I took a chance and requested it. Being somewhat anal about reading a series in sequence, I bought Mystic Cowboy and read it first. Gosh, I never knew what I was missing with those sexy cowboys. Ms. Anderson writes with an entertaining and intelligent style. Jacob's mask and his demeanor make him difficult to get to know, but his emotions are clearly felt. Mary Ann is my kind of gal. Her mouth runs just slightly faster than her brain sometimes. She's feisty, straight-forward and strong, but she's also sensitive and devoted. The road to romance for Jacob and her is rocky but emotional nonetheless. I thoroughly enjoyed this smart, complex and fascinating story. There's mystery, romance and some pretty hot sex. Although this one is can stand alone, it is part of the Men of the White Sandy series and I suggest starting with book 1. I do hope that next one isn't too far off. Sarah Anderson is now on my automatic buy list and please make the next book Nobody's story!

Mary Beth saw the masked cowboy for the first time when he rode his horse shirtless down the street. She had moved west to start a new life. The sexy cowboy was not only a mystery, he came with ton of baggage and a strange little girl. But Mary Beth can't fight the attraction and neither can Jacob Plenty Holes.

Book Blurb for Masked Cowboy

He hides from the world…but he can’t hide from her.

Moving her veterinary practice out west is a chance for Mary-Beth to start over. But her resolve to learn to hold her tongue goes out the window when she meets Jacob, a Lakota cowboy who says next to nothing—especially about the black leather mask covering half his face.

Sometimes he seems to be almost flirting. Other times, it’s as if he’s angry she exists. But there’s no mistaking the heat that flares between them.

Jacob still isn’t sure who—or what—carved up his face and killed his best friend three years ago. All he knows is the thing was after a child he now hides with his silence. A medicine woman’s granddaughter he would die to protect.

Outspoken, sexy Mary Beth reminds him of how lonely his life has become. But he can’t forget how much he stands to lose if any distraction allows a monster to rise again and destroy the last hope of his people.

Warning: This book contains a masked cowboy with a lot to hide, a woman who shoots her mouth off at all the wrong times, and the wanton destruction of a certain pair of panties during explosive sex.
