A Broken Christmas

How do you even begin to review a story that tells about such soul-stealing pain? The problem is that the characters are real or they easily could be. No vampires or time-travel or other devices to temper that reality. The story opens with a horrific scene in Afghanistan that changes Kyle Garland forever. Miscommunication has already caused him to push his wife away and file for divorce. He loves her too much to burden her with his pain. Now, haunted by a secret that is killing his soul, Kyle must face Aimee. Aimee Gardner may have had no say in the divorce but she wasn't going anywhere until she confronted her ex-husband face to face. When he is severely injured and sent home from the war, Aimee gets her chance. The story goes on to follow Kyle and Aimee on a journey of healing and acceptance. Kyle's best friend Connor and Connor's mom bring an additional dimension to the story. Be sure to have a box of tissues at your side; you're going to need it. The author has penned a story of courage and healing. She adeptly shows that the REAL war on terror is fought in the homes of the men and women who have come back from hell. Not a comfortable read but well worth it.
