This isn't my first Anna Todd book, but it might as well have been as it didn't sound like her signature voice in the slightest. For it being a male's POV for the entire book, it came off distinctly feminine, enough where I would turn to my boyfriend and read him a passage asking if he thought a man or woman was expressing these thoughts. Maybe in New Adult I've become accustomed to alpha male leads but it was a little difficult for me to get into the head space of a male. I will say it was refreshing to read about a male fending off the affections of an attractive assertive woman- go Nora! All in all, unfortunately it still felt like a fanfiction, and not like the new series of an already established and successful author.
